Rules to live by in the Army

I just thought this was too funny not to share.

Once upon a time, there was a SPC Schwarz stationed with the Army in the Balkans. SPC Schwarz was either very clever or very bored; but probably both, since he managed to attempt or be warned about 213 things he wasn't allowed to do. Hi Todd, Your grandma said that Anne is planning to take a trip out to Pennsylvania with Connor, so that should be good. Your latest post reminded me of my nephew and his best friend. They loved to draw and now my nephew's friend is an artist. We went to his artshow on Sunday and I think he could illustrate these army rules! I've seen artwork similar to his in cartoons in the New Yorker magazine --about all I have time to read in the magazine!! Hope you had a good sermon on Sunday. The word 'love' was mentioned about 9 times in our readings and then when I picked up Randy at Bethlehem, they had a visiting pastor who asked whether we thanked our pastors. He also asked if we are a joy to pastor. Do we give our pastors encouragement? Felt like I should go write a note to my pastor immediately after I listened to the tail end of this sermon at Bethlehem Baptist Church. So much I take for granted. God bless. Love, Judy and Uncle Randy

Hi Todd, Sorry to hear that your dad fell off a ladder on Mother's Day, but glad not more serious and good that he is doing better now. We're going to have Baghdad-like weather this Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures in the 90's with high humidity is always uncomfortable. Your Grandma Lil said that you may be able to come home for a visit this summer, so that would be great. Love and prayers, Judy and Uncle Randy

Greetings Todd, Hope your Bible study classes and worship services are going well. Went to church with Randy on Sat. at Bethlehem. The elder talked about how the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. That got me to get out my Bible from high school religion class and read the six Messianic Promises in Genesis -- references to Jesus Christ. Today we celebrated the Ascension of Jesus at Holy Coss Church and Father's words seemed fitting. He said we always have one eye on the present and one eye on the future --our heavenly home. Jesus who was taken from us, will return and we are entrusted to carry on His work. He hasn't abandoned us. He is with us and gives us strength and courage. "I will be with you always." Those words help us to transform fear to hope. And then, we pray, our lives can give witness to God's love and mercy. Here is a prayer for hope and strength for you and your soldiers. Lord God, may I always have the assurance that the Spirit of Jesus will hold me (you) fast and carry me (you)home. God bless. Love, Judy and Uncle Randy
